The Department of Mechatronics Engineering witnessed a vibrant exchange of ideas and intellect during its annual Debate Competition, held on 28th March 2025. With 10 enthusiastic teams participating from the Second Year (SY) and Third Year (TY) Mechatronics classes, the event proved to be a dynamic platform for students to showcase their critical thinking, public speaking, and collaborative skills.

Hosted with flair by Parikshit Sathe, the competition explored a wide spectrum of social and technical topics, encouraging participants to delve deep into contemporary issues and present well-reasoned arguments. From ethical dilemmas in technology to pressing societal challenges, the debates reflected the students’ awareness and analytical prowess.

After several rounds of compelling discourse, the team of Sanika Karmarkar and Shraddha Sakpal emerged as the winners, impressing judges and peers alike with their clarity, confidence, and command over the subject matter. The runner-up position was secured by the articulate duo of Sanika Shinde and Aditi Gore, who also delivered a commendable performance.

This event not only celebrated the power of speech and reason but also reinforced the importance of respectful dialogue in academic spaces.
