Dr. Daman Ahuja - A National Award Winner for excellence in coordinating the Red Ribbon Express initiative, has been in Development sector for over 30 years . He has been associated with Community health initiatives of National Health Mission (NHM), National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), UNICEF and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the National level .

As a trainer he handled issues related to Social accountability of Health, Life skills, HIV/AIDs , ASHA, Family Planning, Adolescent Education and Child labour. In his long tenure in development sector he has trained Bureaucrats ,Chief Medical Officers, State and District Community Mobilizers, Trade Unions, Labour Welfare Officers, Film Makers , Political Party Workers, Youth Leaders, Religious Leaders, PRI Representatives and NGOs. During this period he was associated with Population Foundation of India , National Health Mission, PGI Chandigarh , Delhi University , V V Giri National Labour Institute , NCERT, Citizen Commission on Bonded and Child Labour, SIFPSA- A USAID funded Project in Uttar Pradesh and has been a founding member of organizations like Naya PRAYAS, Social Orientation to Human Aspirations through Meditation (SOHAM).

He has facilitated hundreds of Public Meetings during World's largest awareness campaign against HIV /AIDS through Red Ribbon Express ( A Train that traversed across the country three times between 2007-2012) and JanSamwads (Public Dialogues) on Health, Education, Children issues across the country . Widely traveled across the country , he has produced many feature programmes for All India Radio, Delhi. He has also anchored UGC programmes of Doordarshan, DD-1 during 1994-1996. As a hobby he has four books to his credit of which his book " Soham se Bharat yatra tak " has been awarded by Haryana Sahitya Akademy in 2013. He has written several columns in Hindi Daily Newspaper "Jansatta" and edited a quarterly magazine " Krantidharmi" with Swami Agnivesh.

He is a pioneer in experimenting with an approach called Development with Divinity in all his training sessions. An Associate Editor of "International Journal of Political Activism and Engagement (IJPAE), he is a member of the Institutional Ethics Committee of National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi -an ‘apex technical institute’ of MoHFW. He has been in the committee of Health and well being of Adolescents in NCERT earlier in Ayushmaan Bharat Health Ambassadors ealier. .

Mr. Ahuja holds a Doctoral Degree from SRM University,Tamil Nadu, PG degree in Social work and a PGD in Public Relations and advertisement from Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan, New Delhi.
